BIOSIS Previews has been added to electronic resources at the UI Library. The online version of BIOSIS Previews contains Biological AbstractsR and Biological Abstracts/RRMR (Reports, Reviews, and Meetings). It is the largest collection of biological sciences records in the world. It features references to primary journal literature on vital biological research, medical research findings and discoveries of new organisms. The database covers 1969-present. Subject areas include:

• Traditional biology (botany, ecology and zoology)
• Interdisciplinary areas (biochemistry, biomedicine and biotechnology)
• Related areas (instrumentation and methods)

• Updated weekly with nearly 600,000 records added each year
• More than 165,000 documents from more than 1,500 meetings
• Approximately 20,000 references come from review articles
• Approximately 13,000 references are non-critical reviews of books, book chapters and software
• Approximately 16,000 references are to U.S. patents
