Holds and Recalls

Using these services:
  • to recall a book currently on-loan to another user;
  • to request that a book be pulled from the shelf and held (not same-day service)
  • to request that staff search for a book that is not checked out and not on the shelf
NOTE: You must be a registered UI Library borrower to use the holds & recalls service.
NOTE: You cannot recall or place holds on materials that do not circulate (such as periodicals and reference books).

Recalls
This procedure changes the due date for the current borrower and requests that the item be returned for your use. However, it may take up to three weeks for the material to become available.
