UI College of Natural Resources Ranks Top Value in the Nation

Thursday, August 13

The University of Idaho College of Natural Resources is the best value for a natural resources and conservation program in the nation, according to USA Today’s College Factual. The college is also ranked 11th in the nation for the quality of its natural resources programs.

“Our successful alumni have proven over and over again that our programs are of the highest caliber and we are the best quality/value proposition for students  west of the Mississippi,” said Kurt Pregitzer, dean of the College of Natural Resources. “To have a third party confirm this further proves we have both quality and value in our daily drive to prepare the next generation of natural resource leaders.”

The ranking is based primarily on outcomes of graduates, according to collegefactual.com.

The University of Idaho shares the top ranking in value with the University of Georgia and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The University of Florida and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities round out the top five.

“We have been teaching natural resource and conservation-based topics for more than 100 years from right here in the heart of some of the country’s biggest and most beautiful natural landscapes,” Pregitzer said. “Idaho is an amazing place to learn about natural resources and conservation and to apply that education.”
