All members of the University of Idaho community are encouraged to suggest additions to the Library collection. The Library will generally honor book requests to the extent that budgets permit and that the material is available. Materials that support the research and teaching programs of the university are given first priority. 

Please search the UI Library Catalog first. We may already own the item.

Requests will be evaluated by the appropriate subject specialist. Books published within the past year usually are still in print and available. Out-of-print books will be considered for purchase if they can be found at a reasonable cost. Requests should be submitted at least 60 days before the time needed to allow for shipping and processing time. Out-of-print items and items ordered as pre-publications may take much longer. If you need an item sooner, use Interlibrary Loan to borrow a copy from another library.
