What:  A type of periodical. Journal articles are written by and for experts. They cover a narrow topic and are carefully documented. At the end of a journal article, you will find a list of sources (bibliography) that the authors used to support their arguments.

Useful for:  Authoritative, accurate, well-documented, current information. You can find more articles using the bibliography.

Tips:  They come in three forms (current, bound, and electronic).

Current journals:
Latest issues.
Found on the "current issues" shelves, in alphabetical order by the title of the journal.

Bound journals:
Several issues are bound together. (They look like a book.)
Shelved by call number.

Electronic journals:
Some articles are available through the computer. Sometimes pictures or graphs are not included.
