- Jess Taylor began constructing the Taylor Ranch airstrip in May of 1948. It took him approximately one year to complete the project due to the amount of brush and trees he had to remove. Jess used a team of 1,800 pound geldings and dynamite to remove the remaining stumps for the new landing strip.
