Web Version of SciFinder Scholar Now Available

UI faculty, staff, and students can now access SciFinder Scholar, a key research tool for finding chemical and other scientific information, in two different ways. You can use the new Web version of SciFinder or download SciFinder client software to your desktop.

1. New Web Version:  For first time Web users there is a one-time registration for access from a UI computer.
   
   Once registered, the URL for the Web version is: https://scifinder.cas.org
   
   
2. The client version of SciFinder will continue to be supported. For further information, please contact Bill Kerr (billk@uidaho.edu)

Additional information and links to the Web version of SciFinder are available from the Library’s website. Research guides for the web version of SciFinder are available.

Currently both versions of SciFinder Scholar are available, however, please note that the UI’s license for four concurrent users now needs to be shared between these two versions.  We’ll monitor usage and do our best to allocate the number of concurrent users between the Web and client versions to minimize turnaways.
