The Civilian Conservation Corps, one of the first New Deal agencies, was organized to carry out a broad natural resource conservation program on national, state, and municipal lands. Cindy Schacher, the Nez Perce National Forest’s archaeological technician, has put together photographs and forest history excerpts to illustrate the accomplishments of the Civilian Conservation Corps in north central Idaho from 1933 to 1943
