Faculty and graduate students learned about various tools to determine impact factors of specific journals as well as the impact of their own research today in the library workshop. Impact factors can be determined for journals from the Web of Science database using elementary math or a calculator. Eigenfactor and Scimago Journal Ranking are two other ways to determine the impact factor of journals. The H-index allows researchers to conclude the kind of impact their own research has on their field of study. A recording of the workshop is available on the workshop’s webpage.
