Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Teddys Visit to the Campus

In connection with a physical exhibit currently displayed on the librarys first floor, the University of Idaho Librarys Digital Collections has added a new online exhibit featuring photographs of Theodore Roosevelts historic visit to the University of Idaho Campus in 1911.

For about 16 hours on April 9th and 10th, 1911, former President Roosevelt graced our campus with his presence, giving a speech in front of the University Administration Building and planting a tree that still stands today in the Presidential Grove (also in front of the Administration Building).

His visit was brief, but memorable and well-documented. This online exhibit features photos taken digitized from the University of Idaho Library's Special Collections & Archives Department Historical Photograph Collection. Other historical photos documenting the history of the University of Idaho can be found in the Digital Historical Photograph Collection.
