SciFinder Moves to Web Version Only June 30

SciFinder, a key research discovery tool for scientific information, will be web-based only starting June 30, 2011.  The web version of SciFinder provides access to a wide range of research from many scientific disciplines, including chemistry, biomedical sciences, geochemistry, engineering, materials science, agricultural science, and more. The traditional client version of SciFinder will be discontinued at all U.S. institutions after June 30.

UI faculty, staff, and students can register for a username and password for the web version of SciFinder here:

After registering, access to the web version of SciFinder is available from campus or off-campus. Links are also provided from the UI Library’s Find Articles webpage. Additional information about the web version is available at: www.cas.org/movetoweb.

Information about SciFinder's pursuit of piracy of their passwords is located here: http://chronicle.com/article/Academic-Publisher-Steps-Up/128031/.
