Kate – Dear Sister
I return in this Mr Corts letter – I wrote to you after it came to me, and told you that Caleb was willing to go the Spokans D.V. and sent you the ‘Protest’ against Moses Montieths ordination &c to send to Spokan Presbytery (or Mr Cort). Did you recieve my letter & protest? And have sent Mr C. the protest? Please tell me.

Kate, Solomon told me lately that Adelia (his) Silas’ sister told him last fall that Silas said last fall that if a letter came to him from Pres. telling him to go to the Spokans, he would go. Solomon did not know Silas ‘heart’ now, but I think if I was you I would ask Silas if he would go (saying not one word about Moses). Spokan Pres (or Mr Cort) asks if he can be secured, and you cannot tell if he will go now or not, unless you ask him.

Mr Cook writes that Presbytery of Walla Walla will meet at Waitsburg the 1st Thursday of April (the 7th). All of my scholars hope to go to Presbytery if God wills. Robert was up this week. He says they will go on horseback. The Licentiates &c of course will have their expenses from Boards money. The expenses of others of my pupils, of course I will have to pay. I wish you would estimate what the expense would be for one of the (Waitsburg &c) then I will know how much to give for all.

All are here & their families save Mary who needs to be near her Mother. Charlotte & husband will go soon. The others will be here until the latest day possible. D.V. Mark had written you before your letter came asking you to please go to see Carrie. Miss Goodwin had written that she was sick. Is she better? Is LaGrippe in Lapwai? I pray God to spare us it if please Him. Take care of yourself. Dicks wife has been here until it is nearly dark saturday night. Write to me as soon as you recieve this. Tell me about James Reuben, about church matters everything. May God guide you by His Spirit always prays
