Mt Idaho Dec 30th 1890

Kate – dear Sister
Your note with salaries just come. You have the salaries with what was paid by the congregations added to them. Get from Mr D at once the amount of the salary paid by the Board to each one. You have to have that in order to Report. And you must have the amount of the salary from the Board only paid to each one before you can make out estimates for another year. Get last years Estimates from Mr D too. I will help you with the Estimates at this end of the line (D.V.). If you send up such salaries as these to be paid by the Board they will not do it. The apportionment of Roberts salary paid by his church was $200.00 which leaves $250 from the Board. His salary from the Board was $300. But Mr D cut it down $50 (the others $25) when he cut down the Estimates a year or two ago. He cut down ours $60 each but the Board added it to them again.

Get plainly from Mr D the amount of last years (1890) salary from the Board only to help make both Report & Estimates. Who gave you these salaries? Mr D? The ministers can tell you the amounts their churches paid. Get from Mr D too the date on which Roberts salary began again after his suspension – and when Silas’ stopped drawing it. Robert will not know until his check comes, and he does not know when to look for his check. I am glad they sent to you for the Estimates. It shews they have dropped Mr D. I will help you with them (D.V.). But first get from Mr D the whole of the Estimates for 1890 – the allowance for Expenses to Presbytery and everything. I am in the middle of a letter to Dr E about Kamiah matters &c. Roberts people are having a good time there. Elder Jim came up yesterday for candles for evening meetings – and to tell me they wanted to keep my boys at K until New Years. Not many with Archie, he said. No presents came to me from Mrs Mary Mc [illegible], and I do not know of any coming from her for the Kamiah Tree – But they had enough. I sent you a long letter a few days ago. Write to me often, and everything – God guide you always prays

Sister Sue
