Mt Idaho June 12 1892

Kate – dear sister-
Your letter of the 8th recieved today. Stephen told me this morning that Luke had come back and Billy had gone to Lapwai saturday. I have had no later tidings of Dunlap. If he is still living when this reaches you, and Parsons has not come, will you slip just a line inside of the enclosed envelope, and sent it to Parsons telling him about his boy. It takes so long for tidings to reach me here sometimes. I will write to him too. I have been having a sharp little touch of the grippe lately, but am better now.

Dick said today that Robert W. had had a letter from Rev. Cook lately about a meeting of Presbytery to be held in Moscow this week or last; he thought. He says that the Moscow Church has divided ‘like the Kamiah church.’ His story may not be true. If it is true then probably the "Committee" is trying to compromise again by finding a place for Mr Adair at Lapwai? No! no on Mr Adair among the Nez Perces. He has caused enough trouble from the outside in spite of all my pleadings. There would soon be ‘music’ between you & him at Lapwai and he knows that. I do not count him my ‘friend.’ You know how Archie could and would use him, as in the past. I hope you wrote a very plain and decided No to Dr Ellinwoods question about the Adairs coming to the Nez Perces. Speak plainly.

I do not see why Mrs Thaw hindered Rev Dunlap. It seems to me her $500.00 or $700.00 even was not worth that much power given her by the Board. I suppose you have received now my letter with questions about the Gen. Ass? i.e. the old friends there, doings of the Board &c. Please answer soon. Dick says James Hayes was delighted with the Gen. Ass. So he wrote Harry from Portland. It is storming again. We are having so much rain lately and poor Dunlap in a tent, if he is still alive. It will break Parsons heart; (and Emmas too, if he dies. You know how they idolize their boy). Write to me the very day you recieve this please. Tell me about Dunlap & everything.

Good night. God bless you and Miss Fletcher & Miss Gay to whom give much love from
Sister Sue

Tell Emma Miss McBeth is praying for Dunlap & her & Parsons every day.
