Kate dear Sister
Your letter enclosing copy of Mr Woods letter to the Meadow Creek Elders reached me saturday.

Enoch was here the last of last week. He says that Bartholomew went off on the hunt long ago (when he got the key from Enoch). Jehoshephat was at Kamiah for a while, but he and Benjamin have now gone off on the hunt – in another direction and neither Bartholemew or Jehoshephat will probably be home until snow falls Enoch says. None of the Meadow Creek church members except the Elders families are with the Elders. This year the Meadow Creek Church members have gone off in other directions from the Elders. There is no one at Meadow Creek now he says – If only one or 2 or 3 are at Meadow Creek, he says he will go and preach to them in his own house on Sabbath & you too tell him to do so.   Dont send Mr Woods’ letter ’lauyih.’ Send it to some one you can trust.   Enoch says that the letter Mr Woods wrote to Enoch in July an Indian gave to Enoch week before last only. He does not know who took it out of the Office, or in whose house it was held (perhaps some of the Archie band).

Bartholomew was the one who took the key from Enoch. Be very sure that Mr Woods’ letter reaches Bartholomew and Jehoshephat too. If it goes through A’s hands they will perhaps never see or hear of it. It is no use to send it to the Elders now while they are away. And it might get lost or destroyed. Be very careful by whom you send it and try to be very sure that the Elders get it – if God wills.

I have been so hindered and now it is nearly dark, and I want to send this to the mail tonight if possible. It is only a little note about Mr Woods letter to the Elders for fear you send the letter now when the Elders are not there, and it get lost or destroyed.

I had a letter today from Parsons at Presbytery in Spokane Falls – Sept 13. He expected to start that evening for Seattle to the Walla Walla Presbytery. He does not say of course, when he is coming home. Write soon & often. Tell me everything. Good night. God bless you.
