The papers of Clarence H. Sample were donated to the University of Idaho Library by Kay J. Domine, University Archives, College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia, in July 1990. They were processed by Judith Nielsen in February 1993

INTRODUCTION

Clarence H. Sample, of Meridian, Idaho, attended the University of Idaho from 1925 to 1930. He was a member of the Beta Chi fraternity, the Inter-Collegiate Knights,, the Glee club, and the Associated Engineers. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1930 and worked for the International Nickel Company. He died in New York State in June of 1987.

His papers consist of a scrapbook with university memorabilia, mainly dance programs, but also including programs for cultural events, invitations, one letter, and printed broadsides. Also included is a series of six letters written to him by Freda between June 27th and July 16th, 1928, while he was a forest lookout in Superior, Montana, and two unidentified photographs.
