Gifts of money

The University of Idaho Library actively seeks and welcomes donations. Financial contributions are used to purchase materials and equipment or are placed in the endowment fund for future library expenditures. Please contact Lynn Baird, Dean of Library Services, for information about the library endowment fund.

Gifts of materials

For information about how you can make a gift of materials that will support our academic and research mission, please call (208) 885-7951 or email libspec@uidaho.edu. Since the founding of the University of Idaho, gifts to the library have helped assure preeminence in scholarship, research and teaching. We are able to accept only those materials that enhance our collections. In general, we do not accept:

• Journals and other regularly-published periodicals
• Newspapers
• Non-regional newsletters
• Items in poor condition
• Textbooks
• Outdated audiovisual materials
• Books and other items that do not support the library's mission and collection development policies

Conditions

Upon receipt, the library owns gifts and reserves the right to determine their retention or disposal.
