The Government Documents Department of the University of Idaho is the Federal Regional Depository and the Patent and Trademark Depository Library for the state of Idaho. The Department receives 100% of the federal publications, maps, and electronic data distributed by the Government Printing Office. The collection consists of more than 675,000 paper documents, 800,000 microforms, 200,000 maps, 7,500 CD-ROMs, and more than 25,000 online publications. This comprehensive and unique collection offers free access to more than 1.7 million items to all users. Unconstrained access to federal documents helps to inform and empower students to become better citizens. As the Federal Regional Depository, the Library closely cooperates with nine selective depositories, including public libraries, academic libraries, and law libraries, serving the state of Idaho.
