The records of the Blue Grouse Mining Company are part of the records of Day Mines, Inc., donated to the University of Idaho by Henry Day in 1984 and 1985. Initial processing of this manuscript group was done ca.1987. Processing was completed by Michael Tarabulski in February 1992. Funds for processing were provided by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, the U.S. Department of Education HEA Title II-C "Strengthening Research Library Resources" program, the Library Associates of the University of Idaho and other donors.

COMPANY HISTORY

Very little is known of the Blue Grouse Mining Company, other than that it eventually passed into the ownership of the Monitor Mining Company, eventually part of Day Mines, Inc.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The records of the Blue Grouse Mining Company span the years 1898 to 1920. Included are a stock ledger and journal, a list of disbursements and another of stockholders, and a financial ledger.

ARRANGEMENT AND DESCRIPTION

The records of the Blue Grouse Mining Company are not divided into series, but the records are in the same order as series designations in larger collections.
