Photo text: 'Cabin in claim of May Agnes Russell. Located May 28, 1903. Photo, October 30, 1905. The schoolteacher type of homesteader, who spends portions of her 3 months summer vacation 'homesteading' here. Claim recently contested by scrip interests through Connolly Bros., timber dealers of Harrison, Idaho. Contest not yet heard. Presumably Connolly Bros. are attempting to force the homestead claimant to relinquish in their favor for some consideration.' Note: Marble Creek region homesteads at this time were often part of a homesteads fraud being documented by the US Forest Service.
