Photo text: 'Cabin on claim of Chas. O. portfours. Settlement alleged July 11, 1901. Residence 1902-1903-1904, 2 months each year. A cruiser by profession, and in employ of Clearwater Timber Company, a subsidiary of the Weyerhauser interests. Sold September 27, 1913 to Rutledge Timber Company, also a Weyerhauser concern. He lived at Orofino, Idaho, for a number of years, and previously resided at Troy, Idaho. Photo taken October 19, 1905, shortly after he offered filing.' Note: Marble Creek region homesteads at this time were often part of a homesteads fraud being documented by the US Forest Service.
