Doc Cheatham (center), a camera around his neck, smiles with Wilbur de Paris's (1900-1973) band on tour in Lagos, Nigeria. Several men stand outside in a crowd; a few are seen playing woodwind and brass instruments. In front of the men is a woman dancing, wearing a short-sleeved shirt, long skirt, and gele (head wrap). In the bottom right corner are traces of pencil marks; a clearer scan in Cheatham's I Guess I'll Get the Papers and Go Home, reveals that this says "Lagos, Nigeria 3/14/37."
