Abstract:

In American society, there is a romanticized yet violent view of who and what outlaw motorcycle clubs are. The aim of this research is to confirm or deny some myths that surround outlaw motorcycle groups. In addition, this research is an attempt to explore how outlaw motorcycle clubs have been influenced and have influenced by the American West. I will explore these ideas by discussing outlaw clubs and their creation, their exclusionary principles (through race and ethnicity, and sex), as well as explore the outlaw motorcycle clubs' current image in today's media.
