“My Lightning Summer” is a project in an experimental form that reads like a mix, or mash-up of free and very flat verse and dramatic monologue that accumulates narrative meaning, weight, and tension as the voice-driven "story" progresses. The project points to interest in the interaction between the speaker and the reader. Thematically, the narratives are a blend of Naturalism, Dark Romanticism, the anti-pastoral, and all through the lens of the female gaze.
