"Documentary Production and the Potential for Interdisciplinary Collaboration"

Denise Bennett, Senior Instructor
Journalism & Mass Media
September 21 - Idaho Commons Whitewater Room
12:30 pm

Abstract: In 2005 cameras began documenting four high school football players in Washington state. From freshman through senior year the players reveal themselves talking about everything that obsesses high school boys: winning and losing, parties and girls, resulting in the twenty nine minute film "Pups". On July 11, 2010 "Pups" won the All Sports Los Angeles Film Festival's award for Best Documentary Short. In this presentation Producer-Director-Editor/Instructor Denise Bennett will show the film, discuss the production process and festival screenings as well as start a discussion about the interdisciplinary possibilities for documentary collaboration campus wide.
