Abstract: Where is the best place to live? How can we efficiently estimate disease prevalence? How do you make the perfect cocktail? These questions are among the many exciting problems that statisticians work on. In this talk I will use the questions above to illustrate the enjoyable collaborations that statisticians have in many fields, and also to highlight some important themes in statistical research.
