Description:
Core Discovery courses have been a provocative interdisciplinary learning experience for a range of U. of I. students; when two students who had an excellent experience in their Core Discovery courses approached the faculty of American Indian Studies to work with them on a proposal for a Core course involving tribal histories and cultures, we entered into a very challenging and unique curricular, pedagogical and epistemological teaching and learning space. Our discussion will briefly describe the genesis, construction, and instruction of teaching on tribal lands.
