Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival Student Performance Results for Feb. 23

Feb. 23, 2008 MOSCOW, IDAHO ? High school bands and combos were featured on the final day of student performances at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival at the University of Idaho. The day’s competitions featured groups from across the western U.S. and Canada, and from as far away as Alaska and Indiana. The musicians performed for adjudicators who provided feedback and critical evaluation of the groups’ performance. Groups selected as Adjudicators’ Choice received awards from festival sponsors. Adjudicator’s also selected instrumental soloists to perform at Hamp’s Club following the Saturday evening concert. Hamp’s Club is a new feature at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival and provides students the opportunity to perform in a special, jazz club-like setting.
