Jan. 16, 2008 MCCALL, Idaho –The University of Idaho's McCall Field Campus is open for the winter season, offering lodging for the public in a beautiful, rustic setting close to winter fun near McCall and Payette Lake. The campus’ location in Ponderosa State Park makes it an ideal place for exploring the 1,000-acre peninsula and its miles of Nordic and snowshoe trails. Located high in the mountains of central Idaho, nearby Brundage Mountain is best known for its powder-packed glades and luxurious, widely groomed runs. Brundage receives more than 300 inches of snow annually, making it a magnet for skiers and winter sports fans. To sweeten the deal, a 20 percent discount on lodging is offered to all University of Idaho faculty, staff and students, and a 10 percent discount to all University of Idaho alumni. The McCall Field Campus lodging facilities consist of 14 rustic, heated sleeping cabins, five modern yurts and four cabin units, available at the following rates per unit: • Yurts $45; 1-3 occupancy • Bunkhouse units $80; 1-6 occupancy • Cabin units $80; 1-4 occupancy • Yurt and bunkhouse lodging have shared bathrooms divided into mens and womens facilities. Meals served in an historic dining lodge are available at the following rates: • Breakfast $7/person • Lunch (hot or sack) $7/person • Dinner $11/person • Daily rate $22/person • Half price for children 10 and under Owned and operated by the University of Idaho's College of Natural Resources, the McCall Field Campus is now open year-round for groups wishing to host conferences, meetings, courses and community events in a relaxed, natural setting with well-equipped facilities, professional hospitality and food service.
