Pletcher Named Interim Director of UI Boise Center

Peggy Pletcher assumes her duties Aug. 31, replacing Roger Reynoldson who is retiring as director of the UI Boise Center, a position he's held since 1987.^^"Pletcher clearly understands the needs of the Boise Center and the role it plays in the UI's outreach efforts," said Glenn Wilde, vice provost for Outreach and Technology. As interim director, she will initiate a strategic planning process and market assessments for the UI Boise Center.^^Pletcher has been based in Boise as District II Director of Cooperative Extension since 1992. Prior to that, she was Director of the UI School of Home Economics, now the School of Family and Consumer Science. She began her career with the UI in 1968 as an extension home economist.^^"I'm excited to work with Glenn Wilde and LeRoy Luft, vice provost for Outreach, and play a role in determining the future of UI's outreach effort in Boise," said Pletcher.^^Her appointment runs through June 1999, when a permanent director is expected to be named.^^The UI Boise Center provides graduate classes for programs in elementary, secondary, higher education and engineering. Certification programs are offered in adult, counselor and technology education, educational administration and special education administration. The UI Boise Center also houses persons representing the College of Agriculture, Alumni Relations, New Student Services, the President's Office and Vandal Boosters.
