Regents Announce Selection of Interim President

Steven Daley-Laursen - BIOGRAPHY (PDF) Photo is available at www.today.uidaho.edu/PhotoList.aspx June 10, 2008 (Moscow)- The Idaho State Board of Education today named Steven Daley-Laursen as Interim President of the University of Idaho. Daley-Laursen will succeed Dr. Timothy White who is leaving June 30th to take the position of Chancellor of the University of California at Riverside. “I’m pleased to make this announcement on behalf of the Board,” said Board President Milford Terrell. “Steve, as a proud alumnus, will lead the University of Idaho through this next chapter of its very long and proud history with great skill, understanding and vision.” “Steven Daley-Larsen has a strong grasp of both the University of Idaho and the needs of the state of Idaho,” said President Timothy P. White. “The Board of Regents’ choice of Steve is brilliant. He is recognized and respected strongly by the faculty, staff and administrators of the university, and will be well-received by the donor and political communities both in the state and nationally." The Board also named Burton Waite as Interim President of Eastern Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls. Waite takes over for Bill Robertson who is retiring at the end of this month. Ann Stephens was named the new Administrator of the Idaho Division of Professional Technical Education.
