Description:
General view of the spillway section of Grand Coulee Dam, taken from the west bank for the Columbia River. On this date, approximately 80,000 cubic feet of water per second was plunged nearly 350 feet vertically down the face of the dam, creating a waterfall more than twice the height of Niagara. An additional 25,000 cubic feet of water per second is passing through the hydro-turbine installed in the west powerhouse.
