Title:
The Vegetation Types of Craters of the Moon National Monument
Authors:
Day, Thomas A. Wright, Gerald R.
Date Created:

Description:
The maintenance and perpetuation of park ecosystems are becoming increasingly difficult. Knowledge and understanding of park resources provide keys to their protection. A first step in this process is the development of base-line measures of key resources. In most parks, data on vegetation resources are important base-line components. Beyond providing information on the vegetation composition of a park, such information is also useful in developing fire management plans and delineating wildlife habitat. This report describes the plant communities and presents a vegetation type map for Craters of the Moon National Monument.
