![Groundwater constitutes 90 percent of the public water supply for the city of Boise, Idaho. Boise Water Corporation (BWC), a public utility, depends upon the groundwater resource beneath the Boise River Valley for about 90 percent of its supply. BWC is experiencing shortages during drought years in certain parts of its distribution system. [...] This report presents the results of a one-year study of the geologic framework of the basin. It will be followed by a report on the hydraulic testing of the Boise aquifer system and another on computer simulation of subsurface hydrogeologic conditions. This investigation constitutes the first phase of a three year study of the groundwater system.
