- Nitrate and fecal coliform occur in the Bancroft city water supply wells. This report summarizes a study at the IWRRI Technical Assistance for Rural Ground Water Development Within Idaho project team completed to assist the city in mitigating this problem. The study provides hydrogeologic data accommodating these specific objectives: 1) Delinate the aquifer supplying water to the Bancroft wells and the location of recharge for this aquifer. 2) Determine possible sources of contamination that may cause the water quality problems. 3) Identify possible ground water targets available for future development. 4) Determine the reliability of the new water supply source.
