The objective of this study in the Wallace Ranger District was to collect baseline data from selected stations on Tributary Creek and E. Fork Eagle Creek before placer mining operations were to begin and to measure any impact that might occur relating to physical, chemical, and biotic conditions following mining operations. West Fork Eagle Creek, not impacted by placer mining in the past, was to serve as a control.
