Bridgeport July the 29. 1864
Dear Sister,
I Reseved your letter this morning and was glad to here from you I am getting well I shall be able to go to my Compney be fore long I hope thes fue linds will find you all well. I wrote a letter to you the 27. and put in it twenty five dollars and Sent it to you Father & Mother to p and I Shall Send Some more to you next pay day you must let me now how much wheat there is when you thresh it and the wool you say you got 74 Cents a pound So my wool must heve come to 74 dollars for they ought to Cut a hundred pound 26 Sheep. Father you May take that old Seep that I put in with the lambs last fall and fat her and She will do you Some good for She is to old for to winter agin. I dont now about geting eney negro boys and Send them north dont beleve it Can be done but like a nuf eney wone Could to the frunt. for there I Spose there is plenty that are drove away from there homes. tell Mr. Hindell that I am very glad that he is agoing to Save me that 20 acers of land for if I live to get home I want to bey that Rite of as Soon as I Can. Father you See him and tell him I am would not Miss in having it for nothing and I druther bey it of him then eney one else and it ought to go with that of mine and it will make me a nice little farm talk with him about it Father and let me now So if he Sells out to keep that for me.
I wonder if Morier got my letter I wrote a letter to her the time Clarisa wrote for her I direct it to Marier Austin Albion Calhoun, Mich and I wrote a letter to Austin along in March and I hant herd wether they have got them or not So if they are home puty ofton they Can here from me for I heve not hed no truble in Sending them bane. I dont want them to take my letters out of the post office that I Write home.
I think like a nuf this war will be over this fall or next Spring I hope the wheat will turn out well So that my half and the wool of from the Sheep and 40 dollars that you pade of the Mortage will pay you up on the Mortage I give you and then you Can pay the other Mortgage. I shall send you Some money every pay day pay you for taking Care of my Sheep and they will want Some hay and Some grane. if I Can I would like Send home 25 or 30 dollars this fall and have you bey me a good Cow and if I dont Come home this fall I want you to Send me a box that will way about 40 pounds you Can Send it for 3 dollars and Send me Some butter and Some dride apels dride Curnts wal I wost wont write eney more I gess this time So good bey Write as Soon as you get this Direct to the Compney
