Dear Father & Mother
I Set down this time to write a fue lines to you this time & let you now that I am well at presant & I hope thes fue lines will find you all the Same. I got tird of Staying to the hospital to Bridgport So I for the Compney the 28th & got as fere as Chattanooga & here I have ben here three day to the Conlest Convenlestont Camp & as Soon as I Can git transpertation to the Regiment I will go but I Cant go not un till they git redy to Send me they are a Sending off every day a Squad of men to the frunt & I am ansous to go but we Cant go when we want to we haft to wate thes offerces moovemunts. I wish they was Strung on a Rail all of them. thare is a good meney in Camp the Camp is little one Side of the town the tents are what they call dog tents they are very low we Crowl in to them & Set down we have our beds little off from the ground we drow Rasions once a day. bred bread meet shuger tea or Coffee beens. meet & beens we haft to cook our selfs we haft to do duty when we are Cold on tow we haft to drow guns as Soon as we git here the men get here to Camp I have Jest drowed me a gun & Cartrige case I have a gun to the Compney but we are not lowed to go thrugh to the frunt with out being armbed. So I may go rite off in a fue days & I may not go in tow weeks thare is Some that has ben here three weeks. & it is to late now to get to my Compney to get pade this pay day first of September So I will do with out till next time. So I must stay Contented. My pardner has ben that I bunk with Sayes the way is to keep quite quiete is the way to do & they will Send when they get Redy. So I will Stay in my little dog tent & make my Self Contented I expect thare is Some letters for me to the Co. & i heve not herd from you Sence I Sent the 25 dollars but if you answer this direct to the Compney them that wrote to the hospital they will be Sent to the Co. I herd that wheat is two dollars a bushal. Father you must git Some Cut for my Sheep & git along the best you Can. I hope this war will play out be fore long. I hope that we will get Some one in linkon place this fall that dont like niger blud better then white blud.
the wether is warme & nice we hed hard rain here last nite but it is Sun Shine & warme & plesant to day. I do not think of eney more to write at presant So good to you all keep up good Sperits un till we meet agane Raycide Mosher.
