The list of names of the first group of people who are to be transferred to the family center was unofficially released today from Japanese tied to the administration. Mr. Toraichi Kobayashi is the only one from the Oregon group, but Kunisaburo Ishizuka is also among them from Unit 1906. Various rumors were going around as usual in the camp regarding the announcement of the names, and it is almost comical. Summing up all rumors and observations, one could conclude that the majority of us in the camp will be forcibly transferred to the family center.

I heard that among the names on the list are internees and their family responding “no” to a question about the transfer, as well as single people and those who agree to return to Japan. I heard that all the internees in the camp are to be eventually transferred to somewhere else, according to what coordinator Nakamura was told by the newly appointed director.
Mr. Okazaki rushed into our barracks and told us that he witnessed six people leaving the camp. He was highly agitated but figured out which direction they were heading out to. They went to the northwest end of the facility and saw some people mindlessly seeing them off from their behind. They were overcome with feelings of insecurity and worries.
It poured bitterly last night, and it was refreshing.
