It is a seasonal festival day, but the temperature dropped, and it is freezing cold. Water in the buckets placed in front of the barracks is frozen to the bottom.

I finally woke up with the northern wind coming in through the cracks and started a fire in the stove. It was 1:30 a.m., and I spent about one hour glued to the stove.
I am having a hard time as I can get milk only in the morning. I have gained some weight, but I feel it risky to have my diet to the regular one yet. I am constipated as usual but had a small bowel movement in the afternoon, after having nothing for four days.
The news about the Japanese soldiers captured as prisoners of war in Papua New Guinea brought Japanese people a huge shock. It is reported that they started a riot where they were detained, and 48 were shot to death, and 63 were severely injured and taken to a hospital. A guard was instantly killed, and an officer and a soldier were injured.
A lecture by master Okawa was held in our sixth unit at 7 p.m. It was very interesting, and I truly enjoyed it. I am planning to attend the next one as well.
