This area was logged in 1916, leaving all western white pine trees below 14 inches in diameter and from 4 to 6 seed trees above 14 inches in diamater. The hemlock and white fir were girdled at that time. The area has reproduced well; the present logging has removed the white pine trees reserved 20 years ago. 8/36
