Postcard of the interior of the chapel at St. Gertrude's Convent in Cottonwood, Idaho. | The main altar was constructed of rich oak wood at Sigmaringen, Germany, and reached Cottonwood on March 12, 1928. Roman in style, it was planned by Englebert Gier, architect for the blue porphyry section of the Convent. All parts were mortised and glued so that not a single nail was used.
