Title:
1906 Graduation
Donor:
Lyle Stewart
Date Created (Archival Standard):
1900-1910
Date Created (ISO Standard):
1906-05
Organizations:
Settlement School
Description:
A group of eight people stands on the porch of Priest River's first school building.
Original Description:
Five young ladies, three young men and their teacher, standing in front of a frame school building, which donor thinks was located just north of the senior citizen building, about where Polly Week's house is. The girls are Irene danforth, Mary Carr (Mary Will's grandmother), Mabel Johnson (Marte Cliff's grandmother) Lily Henkel and Harriet Wyatt. The boys are Billy Jachetta, Vernon Stewart, Guy Maygar and the teacher, professor W.J. Wood. Doner thought the picture was eighth grade graduation (Vernon Stewart was Lyle's dad), but Mary Will says she thinks it was a 10th grade graduation picture. That would make Vernon's age of 17 come out about right.
