We received some information today that two hundred and something fellow Japanese including Mr. Horosuke Ito who was staying in Missoula and Mr. Chuzaburo Ito in Seattle were sent to New Mexico the other day. That means almost everyone from Seattle has been removed, and I imagine there are not a lot of people remaining there.
I don’t know when it happened, but there is a white standing signage with black text set up inside of the camp entrance, attracting attention from soldiers. The head reads “No.1 Internment Co. Co Commander Capt. Farrell” followed by the names of each assigned officer lined below, with “Co. Leader Miyagawa” at the bottom. This Miyagawa is Mr. Miyagawa. the chief editor of the Nichibei Newspaper in Sacramento. We originally elected Mr. Terao with the Mitsui branch, and he was enthusiastically engaged in his tasks but went back to Japan on the first exchange boat. Mr. Miyagawa was elected as his successor.

An officer notified us that the Spanish ambassador will visit us soon after he meets with the State Department.
It is ridiculous how much sugar they are trying to save these days. Just a sprinkle of sugar is provided for coffee, and it does not taste sweet at all. However, jello is appearing on our dinner table again starting today.
