This heat is unbearable. It was a bit breezy in the morning and evening shower clouds came up, but it was steaming hot all day. A letter to Mr. Koseku Nakamichi from Wapato dated March 10th was just delivered today.
A from Po City to Mr. Tanbara from his family arrived today, and a letter addressed to Mr. Kameichi Ono dated April 8th also was delivered today. Both were mailed out before the families were evacuated, and it clearly reveals neglects of the administration. This is in violation of the Geneva Convention agreements and a significant proof that the Roosevelt administration, who is emphasizing justice, definitely does not represent the U.S. democracy. Correspondence between family members does not serve its purpose and loses its meaning when it takes such a long time.
There was a film showing in the evening. This is the first apologetic entertainment the U.S. government offered to detained Japanese since the war started, but the movie tonight was just a public relation excuse.

It is worth observing how much recreation activities are to be offered in the future.
I heard Japanese navy officer Sakamaki, whose fate as a brave soldier ended up finding himself in captivity at Pearl Harbor, was reported as a lieutenant but is actually a second lieutenant.
