The military repaired my damaged dentures, but I cannot use it as it doesn’t quite fit right in my mouth. Dr. Koyama negotiated further for me, and they agreed to fix it, but I have not heard back from them yet. I am having such a hard time as I have not been able to eat well for the last 10 days.
The Oregonian issued on the 10th carries a report, supposedly to be Japanese official wireless extracted from the Immigration and Naturalization Service, that both an Italian boat Conte Verde and Asama Maru departed Singapore as a Japanese exchange boat on Thursday (July 9).

The Italian boat mentioned above was reported to depart back in June as well, and it is difficult to figure out what is true and accurate. I visited Mr. Taoka, branch office manager of Nippon Yusen Kaisha liner company at his home, and he thinks the second exchange boat will depart at the end of August or the beginning of September.
Today is the seventh anniversary of the late Mr. Taro Miyake. Some of his friends and his brother-in-law Mr. Iwata got together and decided to invite Rev. Nitten Ishita (Buddhist monk in Nichiren School of Buddhism) and held a memorial gathering at the Meeting Room 1 at 7 p.m. Maintaining friendship under this captured circumstance shows us how beloved he was, and also there is no doubt that it reveals the gracefulness of our people. We are all detained without freedom to do what we would like to do as we wish, but I am very pleased to be able to hold a somewhat decent memorial gathering and to serve soda and oranges as offerings for the monk and the guests. Someone arranged cosmos flowers in front, adding sentimental feelings to the space. The wife of the deceased is currently incarcerated in Texas, his son is serving in the military and his daughter is ordered to be removed and staying at an assembly center. The entire family is all scattered around.
