It was raining almost all day. It was refreshing to feel soft morning rain washing dust away.

I received denture treatment by Dr. Koyama when I went to the dentist office this morning. It is not a perfect solution for my issue, but he advised me to use it for a while and see how it works.

Mr. Horagami visited me last night and told me that he asked the camp leader Miyagawa about his improper statement against Mr. Takeoka. Mr. Miyagawa told him that Mr. Takeoka is a “kind of person who would agitate others”, but he made excuses and said he did not personally call Mr. Takeoka agitator. Mr. Horagami advised Mr. Miyagawa to pay more attention and consideration to his acts and words. I am quite confused. After all, that is just to ignore small differences and to try to be unified on bigger issues.

I received a letter from Ms. Masako Onishi.

Newspaper articles do not report any update on the war. The War Information Office was newly established, and that has made all the media spineless. I don’t even feel like reading newspapers and pay serious attention to the articles anymore.

It turns out that 20 people responded they would not like to go back to Japan on the questionnaire, adding three people who changed their mind to go back to the homeland. It is estimated that the second exchange boat will depart on August 10th or 20th.
