It is reported that one fellow citizen received a response from the Ambassador of Spain to his question regarding the exchange boat, and it stated that the departure date will be announced within one month. The letter was received about one month ago, so it is reasonable to assume that the third exchange boat will depart in mid March.
The last week’s issue of Life has two or three pages of photographs of dead and injured Japanese soldiers in Guadalcanal Island occupied by the U.S. forces. I could not help shedding my tears looking at them and feeling my blood boiling. Several readers of this issue sent a letter to the publisher to claim that it is a shame as citizens of a civilized nation to carry such cruel photographs in the magazine. It is interesting to witness them voicing their protest and delivering their opposition against its inhumane approach.

According to the punisher, carrying any photos of dead or injured American soldiers is strictly prohibited in the U.S.
I wrote a letter to Mrs. Kiso today after a long absence. It is the first letter I have written since I sent a postcard to congratulate Mr. Usui seven months ago.
I asked master Okawa, and we got to get together and have him give us another lecture about Buddhism in the sixth unit at 7 p.m. It was very informative. He presented some basic terms as primary philosophical teaching of Buddhism at the lecture, and I am writing down what I remember below.
Four Noble Truths
dukkha - state of reality
samudaya - origin of reality
nirodha - ideal state
marga - path to ideal state
The above is where the teaching of reincarnation stems from. Ignorance, acts, knowledge, meaning of each color, six senses, contact, sensation, desire, attachment, existence, rebirth and death at old age. The circle between existence and ignorance is repeated, and that is how reincarnation of human beings takes place.
