Description:
Every duff hygrometer must be calibrated annually. This is done by testing each instrument in several cans each filled with duff of known moisture content. These cans, with holes in the ends for inserting the duff hygrometer spikes, are shown here being dried in an electric oven. G. Lloyd Hayes pictured; the oven is still in use.
