- Pix copied by U. of I. from a 1932 pictorial calendar. Cutline identifies photographer and reads: "One of the 'Big Ones.' A scene in the Kaniksu National Forest where approximately 60,000,000 timber feet are cut annually. Some 600,000 acres of forests must send their wealth through Priest River." Before the calendar was brought to Roger Gregory, Marilyn Cork at the Priest River Times received a newspaper clipping of this identical picture from Mrs. Willard C. Peterson, Sr., of Spokane. Mrs Peterson identified the cat skinner as her husband, Willard (Bill) Peterson, who drove cat for Fred Forsythe in the 30s. Chuck Peterson says that Diamond Match was the first logging outfit he knows of to use the detrac tractor. He says Forsythe worked for Diamond. XREF: Log 6
